I have had issue 99 and another one for quite some time now and assumed it was common knoledge Cole did the. The last four sounds about right, though I am curious to see if there were others earlier.Ger Apeldoornhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03633862833036214748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3024420441109756132.post-59414176625632344242010-01-17T14:19:30.818-08:002010-01-17T14:19:30.818-08:00Also wanted to say I enjoyed your blog, Chris. Would love to see a list of the characters and artists on the sidebar as you build it up. Good luck with it!Paul C.Tumeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05398929835829679477noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3024420441109756132.post-76126492922223042252010-01-17T14:15:16.300-08:002010-01-17T14:15:16.300-08:00Impressive comics knowledge indeed, Chrismartindee...Impressive comics knowledge indeed, Chrismartindeed!

Good luck on your site, Cathy.

thanks to both of you for your comments.Paul C.Tumeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05398929835829679477noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3024420441109756132.post-24604032906512156202010-01-17T09:50:03.384-08:002010-01-17T09:50:03.384-08:00Women aviators in Golden Age comics?

There was also Jane Martin in 'Wings', who I just featured in my own comics blog (http://itsthatnosydame.blogspot.com).

Also, 'Jumbo Comics' featured the decidedly misogynistic adventures of Sky Girl (AKA Sky Gal). She started off as a daring aviatrix, but was abruptly transformed into a red-headed dip of a lass. While she could still fly aircraft, her stories veered toward knockabout comedy and weird mishaps... usually at her own expense.

Plus, there was the Flying Jenny comic strip.chrismartindeedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15866558531053445562noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3024420441109756132.post-49539528775639873892010-01-15T17:11:41.895-08:002010-01-15T17:11:41.895-08:00I'm doing research on women pilots in the comi...I'm doing research on women pilots in the comics and comic strips, and was interested to find the comment above about Modern Comics #101 and the woman pilot. I'm carrying on the tradition:
http://volcanoseven.com/YouFlyGirl/TheLadyandTheTiger/Cathy Galehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02466805093139006698noreply@blogger.com
